PayFly – Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 October 2026
This privacy policy explains how PayFly (the “App”), an expense and budget tracking app for iPhone, collects, uses and protects your personal data. The App is provided by Akbina (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for the processing of your personal data.
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and a password. You can also sign in with a link sent to your email. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Google Firebase Authentication) and are never visible to us.
Profile information (optional). Your name, username and a profile photo if you choose to add one. The App only accesses the single photo you pick; it does not read the rest of your photo library.
Financial entries you add. The expenses and income you record, including amounts, currency, categories, notes, dates, budgets and recurring payments. You enter this information yourself. PayFly does not connect to your bank and does not collect card or bank account details.
Subscription information. If you buy PayFly Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple. We receive information about your subscription status (for example, whether Pro is active and when it renews) linked to your account ID, but never your payment card details.
Technical information. Our service providers automatically process limited technical data needed to run the service securely, such as your device's IP address, app version and error information.
2. How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and let you sign in.
- To store and sync your expenses, budgets, categories and settings across your devices.
- To show your statistics, charts and budget progress.
- To unlock and manage PayFly Pro if you subscribe.
- To send reminders you have turned on (see section 5).
- To answer you when you contact us.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling or tracking, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
3. Legal basis (GDPR)
- Performance of a contract – to provide the App and its features, including your account, stored entries and any subscription you purchase.
- Consent – for notifications and for the profile photo you choose to upload. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests – to keep the service secure and working, and to handle your enquiries.
4. Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run PayFly. They process data only on our behalf and according to our instructions:
- Google Firebase (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) – sign-in (Authentication), database (Cloud Firestore) and file storage for profile photos (Cloud Storage). Firebase privacy information.
- RevenueCat, Inc. – manages in-app subscriptions and Pro status, using your account ID. RevenueCat privacy policy.
- Apple – processes App Store payments and delivers notifications to your device. Apple privacy policy.
Some of these providers may process data outside the EU/EEA (for example in the United States). Where this happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
5. Notifications
If you allow it, PayFly can send you reminders, for example about recurring payments. These reminders are scheduled on your device. You can turn them off at any time in the App or in your iPhone's Settings.
6. How long we keep your data
We keep your data for as long as you have a PayFly account. When you delete your data or your account, it is removed from our active systems straight away. Copies may remain for a short time in our providers' logs or backups before they are automatically deleted. Purchase records may be kept by Apple and RevenueCat as required by law.
7. Deleting your data and account
You are in control of your data. In the App, go to Profile, where you can:
- Reset → Delete my data everywhere – permanently removes all your transactions, your profile information and your profile photo from our servers, while keeping your account so you can start fresh.
- Delete account – permanently removes your account and all data linked to it. For your security you may be asked to enter your password again.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Norwegian Personal Data Act you have the right to access, correct, delete and receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. To use your rights, contact us at Post@etilbud.no. You also have the right to complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.
9. Security
Your data is transferred over encrypted connections and stored with Google Firebase, where access is protected so that only you can read your own entries. No method of storage or transfer is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and limit access to it.
10. Children
PayFly is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes are published on this page with a new effective date. For significant changes we will let you know in the App.
